Pape Lake
Pape Lake is located in Rucava parish. It is a public lake and has 12 islands. It should be noted that the lake is very shallow and its bottom is mostly covered with a layer of mud. Pape Lake is a nature reserve area in the nature park "Pape". There are both nature trails and pastures for wild horses and cowries in the area around the lake.
- The lake is a popular place for boating and bird watching.
- Boat rental is offered by "Sofijas laivas", camping "Mikjāņu sēta", recreation complex "Pūķarags"
- Fishing in the lake is allowed with a fishing license. The lake is home to perch, pike, tench, bream, crucian carp, and other fish. The fishing ban on the lake is in effect until June 1.

Since 2007, "Sofijas laivas" has been offering canoe and other boat rentals in Kurzeme. The company's base is on the Liepāja side, but with the help of a support point, canoes are provided on all the most popular rivers of Kurzeme: Bārta, Venta, Irbe, Abava, Tebra-Saka, Durbe-Saka, Rīva, Vārtāja and Alokste, as well as routes along Lake Pape and the Liepāja Cietokšnis Canal, as well as trips along one of the most beautiful rivers in Lithuania - Minija.
- Boat bases on Lake Pape operate from June 1st until the first ice.
- In winter, without ice, it is allowed to enter the lake by boat until March 14th.
- From March 15th to June 1st, it is prohibited to enter the lake by boat (bird nesting ban).
- It is prohibited to move on Lake Pape with motorboats, cutters and rowboats using a mechanical engine or motor (except for an electric motor) with a power exceeding 5 hp, and jet skis. The ban does not apply to state and municipal officials performing official duties.
