Užava
The Užava flows along the coastal lowlands, essentially along the bottom of an ancient Baltic ice lake. In places, it was reclaimed and straightened both during the times of the First Latvian Republic and during the Soviet years. Boating is possible throughout the ice-free season from its confluence with the Vanka, but traditionally, boating on the Užava starts at the "Stradži" houses next to the V1269 local road bridge. You can stay here in the settlement area if you arrive at the boating starting point the evening before.
In summer, the river water is clear, rich underwater flora and fauna. Good flow to the village of Užava. The river bottom is sandy, in some places rough gravel and stones. Closer to the sea, sandy loam and gray sand. The banks are sandy or clayey with pronounced signs of erosion, 1 - 2m high, overgrown with deciduous trees. In the reclaimed sections, willow bushes dominate the banks. The Užava River can be navigable by canoe, kayak and stilt. There are well-maintained settlements only at the beginning of the route - in "Stradži" and several places at the end of the route - in the village of Užava and shortly before the sea, therefore it is recommended to do the boating on the Užava in one day at a smooth and sporty pace. In conditions of high water level, previous rowing experience is mandatory! Kilometer markers to the sea are placed at the most important landmarks in the river.

The most important species of nesting birds in the park territory are the grebe, the curlew, the quail, the little eagle, and the meadow plover.
